Parent Meeting: Sept. 8, 2008
Topic: Problem Solving Curriculum for Your Child
Where: White Plains Methodist Church ANNEX in Cary
Sue Patrick of WorkboxSystem.com will help to problem solve your curriculum, behavioral, comprehension and general homeschooling questions. Feel free to bring the actual curriculum and sample student work. Many people may benefit from your same issues. Often people are trying to find the perfect curriculum, when what they really need to do is accommodate, alter, and break down curriculum, or even make up their own. Making up your own curriculum is easier than you think. Come join us for an open, friendly session where all are sure to benefit. Sue will bring many samples of curriculum made up for a specific curriculum concern. Sue will also explain her workbox system.
Sue Patrick is a home school mother of two. Her son has autism and for the last eight years she has worked to develop a structured and specialized teaching system for home schooling. She believes that no matter how few skills or language, how fidgety, energetic or distractible a child is, he or she can be taught depth, understanding, and to be more independent in their school day.
Children are not encouraged to attend the parent meetings. Please note that childcare is NOT available at parent meetings. FAMILIES, INCLUDING CHILDREN, ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING. ALL CHILDREN WILL NEED TO STAY WITH THEIR PARENTS.

The meetings are held the 2nd Monday of every month from 7-9pm at White Plains Methodist Annex Building (see directions below). Everyone is welcome to attend. You do not need to be a member -- we'd like for you to come and "check us out" if you are new to home schooling and are looking for a support group. If you have any questions, send email to
.
Directions to Church: White Plains Methodist ANNEX building (not the main church). It is located at 500 SE Maynard Road in Cary between Walnut and Kildaire at the corner of Maynard and Greenwood.
** A comment about the building location: It is easy to miss. So, keep your eye out for: a very small sign, the building sits down on the lot behind shrubbery, and it is in a curve. Also, it is the first building to the right after the big church if you are coming from Kildaire Farm Road, or the fourth left after passing Barnes and Nobles.
