Dayspring was begun in the school year of 1995-1996 by a small group of homeschoolers who believed that all homeschoolers need and deserve support in their home schooling endeavor. The group blossomed in its first year to include over 40 home schooling families and is continuing to grow
Dayspring is a Christian organization and is governed by Christian principles; but is open to everyone who home schools regardless of of religion as long as they can respect and defer to the policies and principles set by the Board.
The purpose of Dayspring is to offer support, encouragement and information to home schooling families.
Dayspring offers a variety of activities, special events and field trips to its members, such as: Science Fair, International Day, Night of the Arts, Spelling Bee, Christmas Party, Promotion/Graduation Night, Used Curriculum Fair, and more.
Dayspring includes all ages from preschool to high school with social activities and field trips planned for different ages
Parents meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00p.m. at White Plains Methodist Annex Building. Each meeting addresses a topic pertaining to home schooling, occasionally with a guest speaker
Compliance with the North Carolina Home School Law is required.
Coordinate or assist in a minimum of one Dayspring activity.
Attendance to Parent Meetings is not required but is strongly encouraged.
Membership to NCHE is strongly encouraged.
A non-refundable membership fee of $15 per family by June 30th. ($20 per family is required after June 30th) Membership is from June to June of the following year.
